Under construction!!!
The family is a pyramid, structured hierarchically just like God sits
as the King of heaven with the angels, saints, men, animals, etc. In
this case, the Father is on top as the head, next comes the Mother as the
heart, and then come the children (hopefully numerous) as little olive
plants sitting around the table.
The is the structure that Our Creator has given to the family. If we
conform ourselves to it, we will be at peace ("not as the world gives"
says Our Lord, but a spiritual or inner peace) and our families will
prosper (again, in a spiritual sense and not a material sense). As
this can be a mite confusing, let me explain still further. If you
cooperate with the boss at work, you will find that the boss will work
with you. You won't get static from him as long as you do things his
way. You might not be able to stand your co-workers or all of the
procedures and rules, but you will always know that the boss will support
you whenever there's a rules situation because you'll be doing everything
his way and he set up the rules. This is a natural
form of peace but I think you get the picture. Step outside the
lines, however, and you get called on the carpet or you have to be sneaky
about bending the rules. In other words, besides not being able to
stand your co-workers, you won't be able to stand the boss, the rules, the
workplace, etc.
The same holds true for the family. Do it God's way or it's the
highway (the highway to unhappiness - or to hell if you really go too
far).
We live in a world that has had all of the Catholic props or supports
which were put in place to make every aspect of society and family life
more conducive to everyone's salvation (See
Catholic Culture for more info) removed. With the triumph of
Anti-Culture, these props are now only shadows of themselves. In
generations of long ago, it was all "common knowledge". No more!
The only "common knowledge" is what we have been blasted with our whole
lives in 10-second sound bites by this Anti-Culture Society through the
mass media, the laws, entertainment, etc.
I am saying that
Anti-Culture has been stressing its own message of Anti-Culture while
ignoring/belittling/replacing the Catholic Culture message and one of the
major victims has been the family.
The Bible tells us to be in the world but not of
the world. If the last paragraph doesn't make any sense, than I
would try to suggest to you, in a spirit of charity, that you might want
to take some to think and consider the question: "Just what is the depth
that I am of the world." It might be quite a
manifestation!
Let me go on with my original purpose which I shall do so in subsequent
editings. Contact us at
